Tropical Boots?
This is a bit off-topic, but it seems I'll be leading groups of students on week-long tours in Belize each spring for the next few years. I just got back from my orientation trip, and I found my trusty JMT-veteran Asolos to be way too hot, at least with my standard liner-outer sock setup. Have any readers of this board found a good boot for hot-humid weather hiking? Waterproof (or at least resistant) would be a real plus; there's almost always dew on the vegetation that covers the trails, and off-trail is virtually always damp, but seldom really wet. We stay at research stations, so the boots are just for day hikes of a few miles most days. But the bugs are truly ferocious and there is the occasional snake, so it'd be good to have high boots.

IMO, you will have hot wet feet with any type boot. I like Mil. Spec. tropical boots, at least they breathe, I use them here as well.

Bates 8" tropical B922.
They wear like sneakers but hold up like boots. My pair from the Marine Corps lasted me 6 years before the upper started tearing away from the sole

Also, the Bates Hot Weather: B25501 comes in a vibram sole but they are the desert configuration.
