Mammoth Mountain training for Vertical Cure

Post by Snow Nymph »

With Vertical Cure coming up in 3 weeks, and only 10 days on the slopes (my lowest yet!) I have to start 'training'.

Vertical Cure is a fundraising alpine ski event challenging participants to ski as many vertical feet as possible in one day. Our goal is to raise awareness of Scleroderma - a chronic, autoimmune tissue disease that currently does not have a cure - as well as secure charitable pledges to support research for the disease. If you would like to sponsor me or others, go to http://www.firstgiving.com/corinnenewton A fun weekend on the slopes!

Good luck on your event, Cori! You've done this event a couple times before, haven't you? I remember that you had one about the same time that I was involved with an ACS "relay for Life"... I'll be heading to SoCal again next month for mine (I'll post something soon).

I seem to remember that your group was pretty successful with your fund-raising last time. Good luck.... and have fun!!

Thanks for sponsoring me, Rosie! Yes, this will be my 5th year doing this. I missed the first year. It’s a fun event, doing what we love, and its for a good cause. I will look for your “Relay for Life” announcement. Looks like a lot of them are in my area. Maybe we can do dinner or something if the timing is right. :D
