Short story of injury at Rae Lakes

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Short story of injury at Rae Lakes

Post by Baffman »

If you open this link and hit the play button, skip ahead to 5:25 and listen until 16:10, you'll hear a guy telling his story of his buddy's injury at Rae Lakes. I've been through Rae Lakes many many times and over Glen Pass at 230am as well (long story). I can relate.

Nice story. Kind of interesting to hear the "victim's" side of it -- what they remember. I forwarded the link to Phil, the ranger who came over from Charlotte, along with his ER Nurse wife. They got there in some incredible time. Four miles in the dark in close to an hour or something... . Head injuries are ugly -- bleed a LOT. Scary stuff. Glad it all worked out for the guy.
