Earning turns on Chicken Wing

Three of us headed for Chicken Wing on Saturday. We skinned to 8,932', rode ~400' thru the trees, then skinned to the summit of Chicken Wing (9,779'), and back to the vehicles at 7,913'. Thanks to Bullet for breaking trail!

Plan was to skin up out of Mammoth Scenic Loop, but the road wasn't plowed. We pulled over to talk about our backup plan, and noticed Tarkman running around the vehicles parked behind us. We joined Tarkman and Jen (splitboarder!) and ended up somewhere down the road. After about an hour of skinning in whiteout conditions, we noticed the snow was cracking and after assessing the situation, we turned back. It was a good workout, and I got to use my splitboard in ski mode.
