Winter Storm Watch Issued...

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Sacramento, Ca -- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the upper elevations of the Sierra Nevada.

Periods of heavy snow are possible Thursday night and into Friday morning. Snow levels are projected to initiate at 6000 ft., and fall to as low as 4,500 ft. by Friday morning.

The storm is expected to move out of the area by Friday evening. The National Weather Service says 6 to 12 inches of snow are possible at pass levels, and expect rain at the lower elevations.

Finally!

Behind on precip. We need a snowpack.

Plenty of firewood. Full propane tanks. Fuel for the generators and snowblower. Full pantry. I'm ready, let's roll.
