Lightning Strikes In Stanislaus NF As Of 7/27

Post by maverick »

SNF:
The Forest had dozens of lightning strikes over the last 72 hours, see map below, resulting in 13 fires across our higher elevation areas.

Four fires are designated either contained/controlled or out. Six fires are currently being monitored, all are under 1/4 acre in size with little potential for growth. Today fire personnel are reconning and responding to 3 new lightning fires, all currently less than 1/4 acre in size.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

NWS Reno current forecast shows thunderstorms that had been present all last week have ended and this next week will be sunny, dry, warmer with usual afternoon west zephyr winds.
