Another short hike away from the crowds

Post by oldranger » Sat May 30, 2020 3:24 pm

Revisit to the corkscrew tree. I was led here several years ago by a Friend who was a forest service employee who did forest inventory. This tree and all behind it are growing out of a lava flow.

That lava looks familiar. I was amazed at the lava west of Bend...a wonderful area.

This flow is s of Bend about 5 miles e. of 97 on a Forest Service Road then another mile on an abandoned 2 Track.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
