Upper Iron Creek

Iron Creek is in Ansel Adams Wilderness which has great scenery
and swimming holes.

The late Pooch and I did a loop out of Silver Lake, Thousand Island, Johnson Lake, around Sheep Crossing and a night at Iron Creek where it crosses the trail south of Hemlock Crossing. A nice hole alongside the trail at Iron Creek for a dip. Oh yeah, in mid October, another trip where we only saw 6 people the whole trip. It started snowing on us below Catherine when we hiked out of the canyon, just south of Twin Island, so we got the flock out of there. Longest day ever for us, Iron Creek to Silver Lake TH in a day.
