Sadly, that first picture shows where rock was recently covered by glacier, now gone.

OK, Shawn's photo helped a lot, but Maverick let the cat out of the bag before I could go back and find the digital photos my wife had taken the last time we were anywhere close to the Kaweahs (and those fuzzy photos, of course, confirmed my suspicions, see the very different angle view of those peaks, below). Since there was still a ton of snow that year, we did not get much closer than this (to the Kaweah basin) before bailing out over Pants pass..........with the steady stream of gorgeous photos from that area, I think we'll aim for there next year!

So, Maverick, do you want others to post "guess where" entries?

Why not? Post a pic, and if there are no answers in a day, post
a second clue.
You must post a pic that represents that ridge, range, basin or
whatever, it can't be something totally obscure, that even if someone
has been to the area they couldnt recognize it.

OK, to piggyback on Maverick's game (good "rules", by the way), here's an "easier" shot that should scream out to a few folk who I know got similar panoramas on their trips this year:

Happy trails!

We used to have an ongoing thread like this. Very fun.

CG, I had a few locations that popped into my head when I saw your photo. Both were wrong :retard: I cheated and clicked the photolink which took me to the photopage with the location in the title :unibrow: Cool shot.

Shot from Windy Peak looking north? I recognize Woodworth and the
Craigs, but not sure where it was exactly taken from.

Hi Maverick,
That's it! The shot was actually from a bit further south (Dougherty Peak), but it's pretty much the same panorama. What I liked is it gives a good perspective of the Tunemah and Blue Canyon Peak area you'd enquired about earlier this summer. I'm guessing you'll get into that area before I do, so I'll look forward to your photos (and looking for your footprints)!
