WOW- going quick! how was the trip to the pass? anything of note? did you even need micro spikes? this came at a perfect time-as I am planning to meet some friends in the area next week(they'll be coming in over the pass-me up Bubbs. )

Yes 28 June not 28 July - I updated the caption.

The hike to the pass on 13 July crossed a few snow patches on the way up but no traction devices were required (I didn't use any either time). I'm guessing within a week or two nearly all the snow will be melted out.

Heading up from Onion Valley on August 2 SOBO. Can anyone update me on snow levels at Forester Pass, north to Whitney? Wasn't expecting to use spikes so hoping snow will be fairly gone by then??
