New Pack Again

Post by frediver »

First
What is the common size most of you are using?
3,000-4,000, 6,000 cu. in?
What are your bare packs weighting in at, 4 ,5 , 6 pounds?
I am hoping for a pack to be under 5 pounds and at least 4,000cu+.
Right now I am interested in a snugpack rocket system pack, has anyone used one or any snugpack pack product?
I have been using a Lowe and a G-4 pack both have worked well but the lowe is a bit heavy at 6pounds and the G-4 lacks the weight capacity I would like. I have been checking out the local REI and I am finding that
most of the new packs with the capacity I want all seems to weight 6+ pounds, IMO that's just to heavy. Oops I forgot to mention that the price tags that come with the new gear is more than a bit outrageous, $250.00++, I don't think so. Even sale items can be a bit pricey.
When I started packing 30 years ago a frame and pack would weight less than 4 pounds total with a capacity of greater than 4,000, cu. in.
any ideas?
