...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 10 PM PDT SATURDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR EASTERN ALPINE COUNTY...MONO COUNTY...SOUTHERN LYON COUNTY...AND MINERAL COUNTY...

* THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR SATURDAY...

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Zone 273 Mono and Eastern Alpine Counties
and Fire Zone 459 Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties.

* Valley Winds...West to southwest 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45
mph.

* Slope and Ridge Winds...West to southwest 25-40 mph with gusts
up to 65 mph.

* Humidity...5-15%.

* Duration...4-7 hours.

* Impacts...The combination of strong gusty winds and low humidity can cause fires to grow extremely quickly in size and
intensity before first responders can contain them. Danger to personnel on or near existing fires will be high on Saturday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a particularly dangerous situation with extremely low humidity and high winds. New fires will grow rapidly out of
control, in some cases people may not be able to evacuate safely in time should a fire approach. Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry vegetation, such as yard work, target shooting, or campfires. Follow local fire restrictions.
