"Fire" in 20 Lakes Basin

Post by copeg »

Well, at least it seemed like the basin was on fire. This sunset ranks up there with some of best I've seen  . The sunrise the following morning wasn't too shabby either...only have had time to process one so far. Taken near the outlet of Greenstone Lake with a canon 350D, 17-40mm f4.0L at f11, 6" and some gnd filter (or filters, don't recall the combination)...

This is so nice. You have fire in the sky and fire on the ground in the form of the flowers. This is truly a wonderful image.

Thanks all. I made a few tweaks to my original, but the content is pretty much the same. That was one unbelievable sunset.

Beautiful as always, was this last weekend, if so much greener and flower dotted than I expected. I’ve been out with an injury, but going up next week, if I’m not feeling up to a long haul my back up plan was 20 Lakes Basin, conditions look pretty inviting.

Thanks again everyone.

Doug, this was last weekend. Greenstone Lake had lost of green and lots of blooming paintbrush around its outlet and south east shore. Many flowers along the trail in. In the short time we spent there we walked up through the basin and didn't see a better spot for wildflowers than that area of Greenstone Lake.

I posted a few more on my Twenty Lakes Basin webpage

Here's one from the sunrise:
