Snow levels in areas between White Mtn and June Lake?

Post by SteveB »

Doin' a little last minute planning for some car camping this coming weekend, and I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on the snow levels in areas like Mammoth, Convict Lake, McGee, and so on (Eastern Sierra basically)... :) I'm thinkin' maybe Bishop through Mammoth area, but want to avoid the inevitable crowds in that area!

As of today it is between 6 and 7 thousand feet. A dusting below that. A chance of snow in the Mammoth area between wednesday and thursday night.

Sunday night at 8,000': http://community.webshots.com/photo/525 ... 0666HnnAat

It warmed up Mon/Tues. SnowDude said the streets in Mammoth (at 8,000') are slushy and water is running from snow melt. With freezing temps at night, its icy.

Hope the storm holds off til I get to town tomorrow night!
