Snow in French Canyon

Post by cgundersen »

As more reports come in of receding snow levels, I was feeling some remorse for not having uploaded a shot of the trail sign at the intersection of the French Canyon Trail (that connects to Pine Creek Pass) and the trail up to the plateau that includes L Lake (north of Humphrey basin). The text that is on the part of the sign facing the reader includes arrows pointing to Piute Canyon and Hutchinson Meadow and in the opposite direction to Pine Creek pass. This photo was snapped on June 24th and I'm guessing that things have opened up substantially, even as the creek crossings continue to roar!

Is that a view of the same trail junction as this one (from mid August 2010)?

ogg: it would appear to be. This should give the Sherlock Holmes-types a good clue for how much snow was lingering out there!
