whats in your headphones?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

I manually updated the last few posts. For me, anything that I didn't update won't play.

Edited each post with the new BBCode and YouTube link. If you take what you inserted into the old BBCode and paste it into the YouTube search bar the target video comes up. Then I simply copied the iframe link for that video and pasted into the new BBCode on HST.

I tried the new youtube_vid thing, and i get no joy. Your other code works though..

eg:

[youtube_vid]<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cOeKidp-iWo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>[/youtube_vid]

this is the other choice:

[youtube_vid]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOeKidp-iWo[/youtube_vid]

For me, the first one looks fine. The second one doesn't, and won't show up for anyone, because you didn't insert the right string. You have to insert the iframe share link i.e. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cOeKidp-iWo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Even with the old BBCode what you inserted in the second one wasn't correct. And you used the new BBCode, i.e.

Code: Select all

[youtube_vid][/youtube_vid] vs. [youtube][/youtube]
not the old one, anyway.

got it.. was just pointing out that youtube_vid isn't that friendly I guess. I have the well formed URL template on my desktop now labeled youtube hack.. Only took an hour to day to spin back through my posts.. not bad.

one other question though, ERIC.. can't you put that code into the youtube_vid so that all we have to put in would be the cOeKidp-iWo or the id for the video? I know, no mods..

The change by YouTube is unfriendly. I get that. Sucks for the old posts with the old BBCode. But not sure I see how the new BBCode in and of itself is unfriendly.
