TR: Gianelli to Chewing Gum (Aug 26-29)

Post by bdevlin »

Arrived at the TH mid Friday. Hike in was not too difficult but perhaps made more so by the 4 lbs of dry ice I packed :-) Just past Powell we chose to scramble down to Chewing Gum and we found a VERY simple route. Saves nearly 1.25 miles of dusty trails. When we arrived at Chewing Gum it appeared that all the obvious sites were taken. I was already slightly disappointed at the number of people. Thought it may be less due to back to school. We found a decent site albeit in the wide open with no shade. The lake on Saturday....it was like an MTV Pool Party!! Tons of people in the lake and around the lake. No mosquitoes though. Oh, the dry ice, that provided the coolest of beer and ice cold margaritas. \:D/
