Some people also use cat litter for their waste.

Coming from the backside, the wag bag zone now starts at Crabtree Meadow. Box full of 'em at the Jct with the PCT. Steve

Collection receptacle at Crabtree Meadows?

Post by dharter »

Is there a receptacle at Crabtree for those traveling south to north?

Has anyone used these on the trail as there only means of waste disposal? It appears each kit only weighs 2 oz (empty), can be used for 2-3 days (according to Whitney zone site), and can be disposed of in the garbage - similar to a disposable diaper. That would mean using 2 or 3 between MTR and Crabtree. It seems that this encapsulation process would be a more hygienic alternative than carrying around used TP in a baggy.

Thoughts?
