Thanks maverick, so classic haha. Anyone hiking up at those elevations with southern exposures at this time of an average winter year deserves that. In early morning about the shade of every tree a hump of uneven snow to slip about on with areas where the sun comes through between trees little ponds. Like the pic of them going through that meadow near Eagle Peak on logs to avoid all the pooled up water. Very common situation. They were so surprised to see snow above 7k? Well its the third week of April. At Tahoe that has a lake level of 6250 feet skiers are still working areas of spring snow on shady exposures. And then on their descent down Yosemite Falls trail they got caught in a thunderstorm with lightning and hail! No place to hide there. Who needs to bother checking the weather report. What FUN!
