Swansea Grade to Cerro Gordo

Didn't know where to post these pics, kind of a combo 4WDrive and peak bagging trip.

Swansea Grade Road to Burgess Mine and New York Butte

PHOTOS: http://snownymph.smugmug.com/gallery/2696378#143125541

Stopped by Panamint Springs to drop off some tires to Dezdan, where the April Apocolypse was happening. Then drove to Swansea Grade Road to meet up with our Topix group for a 4x4 weekend with a couple of short hikes. So Saturday we drove up Swansea Grade, stopped at Burgess Mine and set up camp at the base of New York Butte. We dayclimbed New York Butte (10,668'), had drinks after, launched the flying chicken, and had a nice campfire after.

Great photos, Joe! I like the "Journal" viewing. I had always viewed mine in "SmugMug" mode, and didn't know about the different views. Thanks!

I saw these before the site went down, and couldn't reply.

Joe~
Loved your photos and the captions. The photo's with the Sierra's in the background are amazing. What a view! That one of Cori's FJ with Whitney should be a Toyota ad. And then Mr. Chicken... almost peed in my pants LOL as i relived those flights. Great weekend.

Thanks for catching it so well with your keen eye. :clapper
