Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

Fast paced Pacific storm still forecast to move into our area today into Thursday with a chance of rain and snow showers in the High Country and the Valley foothills through Thursday afternoon. Increased winds will accompany this system so a Wind Advisory is in place today and a High Wind Watch for tomorrow. We could see gusts of 70 mph over the Crest later today into Thursday. Temps will drop 10 degrees or more today and Thursday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny skies during the day, turning partly cloudy in the evening. South wind 15 -20 mph with gusts of 35 - 45 mph in the afternoon. High temperatures in the mid 60s and evening temps in the mid 30s.

Today for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Cloudy and windy with a chance of rain and snow. Snow level 6,000 feet. Southwest wind 15 - 25 gusting to 35 in town and 70 mph over the Crest later in the day. High temperature range 40 - 50 and evening lows 13 - 29.

Thursday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Partly cloudy during the day, turning mostly clear in the evening. There is a 20% chance of rain and snow showers in the morning. Snow level 5,000 feet. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph gusting to 35 mph in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures in the upper 50s and evening lows in the lower 30s.

Thursday for Mammoth and the Mono Valleys: Cloudy and breezy with a chance of scattered rain and snow showers. Clearing later in the evening. Southwest wind 15 - 20 gusting to 35 in town and 50 mph over the Crest. High temps 32 - 42 and evening lows 10 - 20.

Ridging builds in on Friday ahead of another approaching system on Saturday. There will be a slight chance of showers in the High Country, then on Sunday things clear out and temps warm back up again as high pressure re-builds into Tuesday.
