Well this is good news

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

I'm with Rouge on this one. Messing with mother nature on a scale like this, always has unintended consequences that we didn't have the foresight to see.
Once in a while you can get shown the light

It would be so tempting to eliminate mosquitoes. But I agree that would be playing with fire, in the big ecological picture.

Some people advocate returning to the use of DDT and other chemicals. If Malaria killed a member of your family, you might have a different perspective on eliminating the little buggers entirely.
