What kind of campfire is this?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Never timed it, but probably less than three minutes.

Of course, that was in a helicopter...

I don't know Mount. Looks like it's going to be hard to get a good discussion going without the likes of D395, xc_coyote, Rainbow, and some of the other old "regulars" around.

I think I hiked it in about 45 minutes years ago...probably not too fast compared to some.

Cruiser, why do you need them when you have me here...I can't remember from the good ol' days, are we on the same side or not? If not, lets get at it.:)

Looks like it's all smoke and no fire, 2nd Amendment notwithstanding. OK -- that's it for me on this topic!

Yep! We'll honor that call to arms so long as all posts are within our guidelines:

Oh, and if I thought any of the topics in this forum obviously belonged in another forum, I would have moved them. Some would probably fit just as well in another forum, but why bother when I could make an argument either way...right? I'm not trying to be the "Forum Nazi" here. "No post FOR YOU!!" j/k

Goodness Eric, I don't remember anyone posting any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or other material that was offensive. . . . Just some good ol honest disagreements that led to some really interesting discussions. I even remember you commenting about how quiet it was when Mountaineer wasn't trying to provoke a debate.

Eric, I appreciate your gentle reminder. One only needs to look at the Whitney Portal website to see how easily a site can be completely ruined by that sort of thing.

Hey, I am an oldster of 41 years. Clue me in, I can't remember if we agree or disagree or not.

Eric, no offense buddy. I was just in a sour mood yesterday and looking for a good argument and couldn't find one in here. I try not to start them, just join in and finish them. :D
