All:

Short Term…Today begins the cool down with windy conditions in both the Owens Valley and the High Country. Depending on where you are in the forecast area, winds could begin as early as 10am this morning. Advisory conditions will most likely begin by this afternoon into Friday, with gusts to 40 mph in the Owens Valley and 50+ in the High Country. The Sierra Crest will experience 60+ mph. The strongest winds should be on Friday. Daytime temps by Friday in the High Country should be in the mid 50s and lows in the upper 20s. The Owens Valley will see afternoon temps down to the upper 60s/low 70s and evening temps in the mid 40s. Overall mostly dry conditions will prevail, with a chance of isolated rain showers in the High Country and a dusting over the Crest.

Long Term…Saturday will see breezy and cool conditions over the forecast area. High pressure will build in on Sunday through Wednesday, allowing winds to relax and temps to rebound. We can expect near normal temps by Monday.
