How to build a duck trap.

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

How to build a duck trap.

Post by rlown »

It stymied even a veteran backpacker. Given the recent disdain for ducks, we decided to build a trap in the dinkeys. Caught at least one. :D

We let him out eventually as he was our ride.

PS: still waiting for him to kick off the TR for that trip.

Great picture of him Russ, makes him look much better than in person. :unibrow:

Yeah, maybe some time in this decade.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

In fact, I do have a video of an unlikely pair helping to improve the trap. If you see the dust kicked up by the sasquatch helping to build the trap, that's not dust. That's his normal aura after 4 days in the backcountry:
