Poison Oak

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Poison Oak

Post by Robert »

That photo was taken in the Mitchel Canyon area of Mt. Diablo State Park. I suppose I'll go back this autumn and take some shots of the plant in it's autumn colors.

When I was growing up in Northern New Jersey (many years ago), I was particularly suseptable to poison ivy. If there was a campfire where the firewood had old vines of poison ivy on it, my face would get all swollen from being around the smoke. It was horrible!

Nasty stuff...stay away.

Regards,
Robert
