whats in your headphones?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Classis rock.

Way way back we would sometimes on short backpacks bring these bulky tape cassette players of that day with us that include a speaker above the cassette slot. If you've never seen one of those, your just a tyke:

Last few years have been using a tiny Sandisk Sansa Clip+ mp3 player with a variety of earbuds. But recently bought two pairs of Senheiser PX-100-II collapsible mini headphones which weigh just 3.5 ounces. On one pair I removed the speakers from the head band and installed them into my Smith Optics Variant Brim ski helmet while the other is for anything else including tossing them into my backpack.

Infrequently listen while hiking trails and never when cross country which we often are rambling. I really don't need to always be listening to nature because, been there done that over a lifetime way more than few others. Sometimes listening to hard driving classic rock can help me going uphill on a trail as it can be a diversion to the usual unpleasantness of hefting 65 to 80 pound loads. And sometimes on long boring trail downhills. Otherwise lounging around base camp midday like marksfor.

Didnt reply before Sparky as Ive never had an IPOD or similar, but my kids gave me an IPOD Nano for XMAS so it will join me next summer. I'll be alot like Marksor with older rock dominating my choices. The Dead, Ten Years After, Hendrix, The James Gang, etc, but I will have some Offspring and Sublime along as well. I can already imagine the alpen glow with Tulls Thick as a Brick as the background!!! Really like alot of your links. Very cool!!!!
Once in a while you can get shown the light
In the strangest places if you look at it right.
