New Years resolutions.. What did we learn this year?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

and lose my fxxkd fear for the spiders in the tent
My zippers were broke on my tent later this year and the Harvestmen were out in force. They would crawl in the tent then get stuck. I would be trying to sleep and they would come crawling across my face and I would have to get up and smash them all then try to sleep again. :p

I learned plenty this year.

The Tarptent Rainbow is not great for rain.
A water resistant sleeping bag is a nice thing to have. (I didn't)
Seam sealing your tent is actually a good idea.
Don't wear waterproof clothing as your only option.
Full grain leather with minimal stitch points is the only way to get great durability from boots.
It's best to assume that you cannot get butane fuel when you get there.
If hiking through Oak forests make sure you have a head net.

To name a few...
