People Place or Fish

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Each to his own is a really good comment. I always knew that as a backpacker I was not "normal" and that's just the way it is. I like campsites different from either of you. That's what makes us unique and individuals. I celebrate diversity, but being a limited human, I have to admit that I am more comfortable with people not too different from me.

For me it is all about the solitude. Living in a heavily populated area and working a high-stress job that involves dealing with all kinds of people getting out with my brother (who I only see a couple times a year since he moved west) and finding solitude is tonic for my soul.
