Wildflower ID?

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Wildflower ID?

I've seen this a lot but for some reason it's not in my Sierra Wildflowers guide. I'm sure someone here knows.

Since I know everyone was just dying of suspense, I feel duty-bound to report I've figured out the answer. It is bog mallow (Sidalcea oregana). As a bonus, at one time the thick sap of a related species was mixed with sugar and used in making marshmallows. Good to know in case one is dying of hunger in the backcountry.

I can now die in peace. :)
