Sonora, CA -- Words can hardly describe the incredible beauty of Highway 108 over Sonora Pass.

The beauty doesn't start with but it certainly includes the cascading elegance of Leavitt Falls in nature's unspoiled arena.

Incredibly beautiful Leavitt Falls on the way to the Sonora Pass summit.

And after a steep climb, the summit of Sonora Pass is finally reached ... more than a mile and a half above sea level in the Sierra Nevada. This year's snowpack has been measured at 180% of normal assuring California of a bountiful supply of water for the remainder of the year.

Self explanatory; the summit of Sonora Pass at 9,624 feet is reached during Memorial Day weekend, 2006.

And finally, the peaceful descent from the snowcapped summit and peaks ... a wonderful opportunity to view the beauty of the mountainous terrain ... certainly a rare blessing that Mother Nature has bestowed upon California.
