*&$#%#%$ SNOW!!

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Lovely fish--thanks for those photos!

And we were near Cherry Lake on Saturday and Sunday---snow level was around 3,000 there. By mid-morning it had melted off at the lower elevations...but up at Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge, it was still snowing Sunday evening...six inches on the ground.

I was working trail crew on section F of the PCT near Piute Mountain Road at 6200Ft. It snowed on us starting Sunday morning and was off and on until we left on Wednesday morning when it was really snowing hard. All stuff that will melt off within a day though.

We fed the only thru hiker we saw. A man from Germany that was going to be in the high Sierra in a week or two and had no plans to bring any ice axe and crampons. We convinced him to get some and that he didn't need items like bear spray. :D

Luckily I brought skiis down for my early sierra fishing/hiking trek. Have skied near Donner and Carson Passes and now maybe near SEKI if my next fishing destination doesn't work. TR to follow when I get home next week.

Looking forward to reading it OR.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

It's snowing again here at lake level and starting to stick. The Intellicast radar shows it spreading south....

Cool thing about Mother Nature-- she doesn't give a damn about our wants and schedules!
