SEKI Wilderness Stewardship Plan Public Scoping

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

SEKI Wilderness Stewardship Plan Public Scoping

Post by LMBSGV »

I saw this on the SEKI website:

"On April 11, 2011, we will be initiating the public scoping phase of the Wilderness Stewardship Plan and Environmental Impact Statement.

"In consideration of the complexity and scope of wilderness stewardship issues in SEKI, the period during which comments will be accepted will extend for 90 days past the publication of the Notice of Intent in the Federal Register. This website will be updated when the notice is published.

SEKI encourages comments regarding the range of issues which should be addressed, alternative approaches to managing SEKI wilderness areas, and other concerns regarding SEKI wilderness areas or the wilderness planning process. All written comments must be transmitted, postmarked, or hand delivered no later than 90 days after the publication of the Notice of Intent in the Federal Register."

The comment period is 04/11/2011 - 09/01/2011.

Here's the link to the site's home page:

I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.
