Already checked on that. Would have been a great deal, but the small print says strollers are not eligible for the 20%. Double Boo-urns...oldranger wrote:Eric
Remember to combine it with the 20% off coupon. Or better yet get grandma and grandpa to make the purchase. Thats what my daughter did to me! Now I get to push the bob with one in a backpack and the other in the bob, gettin ready for the Sierra if it ever stops snowing.

There is a chance that you can get the 20% off in May. As I recall they do a one item 20% off then and maybe they won't exclude the carriers. Also check out craigslist! You might have to take a pressure washer to a used one but you could probably save at least $200.

Eric, if it's a BOB your wife has in mind, you won't be disappointed. They are well built and all you'll ever need for a stroller/jogger. They sell a kit that allows you to attach an infant car seat to it as well. Yes, they aren't cheap, but they are worth it, IMHO.

Re: REI dividend season is here...
Congratulations, Eric!
I got $471 back.
I ordered the Women's Lightning Ascent snowshoes using the 20% coupon. I didn't shop much at REI last year, but get 1% back for everything purchased on my REI credit card. I charge gas, food, car maintenance/insurance, medical bills, etc so it adds up.

At $3.41, I thought I would be the lowest . Its not really surprising as I am a notorius tightwad when it comes to buying my own gear. I wait for sales, craigs list, swap meets, etc. Next one should be a bit better however as I have been looking the last couple weeks with my daughter at boots and a hydration pack for her and it looks like REI is the spot (20 % discount, quality, etc). While I am tight, Im not cheap and learned along time ago to make sure I buy good equipment that fits right.

Like Snowy, I have an REI credit card and so got back $241. It's my wife's birthday on Friday so I used it to get her an Eagle Creek Tarmac 25 suitcase - she's been asking for a good larger one than a carry-on for a long time and our Eagle Creek carry-on still works great after 12 years and a huge amount of abuse.

$29.27. Not too shabbie. with that and the 20% off coupon it will be the Exped UL Synmat. This will replace my Exped 9 DAM to bring my pack weight and volume down by several ounces and not sacrifice too much in the evening comfort department which is so important to me on those long fall Sierra nights.

Just got the REI card towards the end of 2010, also, which is primarily why we got the return we got.
It is. Yep, she's aware of the car seat attachment. Many of the used BOBs seem to come with them so apparently a popular extra. I'm told she's looking at either the Revolution or the Ironman. Also told that the resale on those things is not much less than new, even on Craigslist.Carne_DelMuerto wrote:Eric, if it's a BOB your wife has in mind, you won't be disappointed. Re: REI dividend season is here...
I've been getting jealous with all of you getting refunds. I was beginning to wonder if I had another attack of old age onset attention deficit disorder and threw it out accidentally. But it showed up yesterday in the amount of $74. That was based on only half our REI purchases. I swear my family alone could almost keep REI and Sierra Trading Post in business. But that is where we buy most of our clothes and gifts for the kids and grandkids.
What to buy? No big ticket items unless I decide to get the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 3 for kathy and I to use backpacking but that is a lot of money to take 1 lb off our loads when we backpack together. But then maybe I could just not put money into the Grandkids 529 college accounts for a couple of months!
