Wildflower ID resources

Can anyone recommend a book or website that would be a good resource for identifying California foothill and mountain wildflowers? I went out today with my NA Audubon guide and while it helped me ID a few, I feel I need something more specialized. I'd love something I could take out on my day hikes, but I'm also taking notes and snapping photos (with a little point and shoot digital) and could check those against an online resource as well. Any help is appreciated!

I don't remember if it was on here or another site but someone recently posted about a phone AP that you could download. Once you have the ap you you can take a picture with your phone and it will indentify the flower for you, sounded pretty cool. It might have been on the Backpacker site.

Thanks, Gary. Unfortunately, I do not own a smart phone.
I've checked out some books at Amazon and followed a few links on a website Maverick linked to in another thread, but I have yet to find anything that looks like a comprehensive catalog of foothill/Sierra wildflowers that can easily be used for identification purposes.
