FORECAST 28-AUG-09

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY
PROVIDED BY DENNIS MATTINSON
EASTERN SIERRA WEATHER FORECASTER
KSRW 92.5 / 96.5 FM AND TV-33

FRIDAY, 28-AUG-09, MORNING REPORT

AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE CORE REMAINS STATIONARY OVER THE GREAT BASIN AND THIS WILL GIVE US WARM TEMPERATURES FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. AN UPPER TROUGH MOVES INTO THE PACNW TODAY AND WILL BRING WITH IT SOME HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS BUT LITTLE IN THE WAY OF ANY REAL MOISTURE. THAT LOW WILL MOVE ON THROUGH OREGON ON SUNDAY WHICH WILL LOWER TEMPERATURES INTO MONDAY. RIGHT NOW, THE REST OF NEXT WEEK LOOKS DRY WITH TEMPERATURES RUNNING AT OR ABOUT NORMAL. THIS COULD CHANGE A BIT BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK, IF WE ARE INFLUENCED BY ANOTHER OFFSHORE TROUGH AND ITS ASSOCIATED MOISTURE. WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.
