FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

WEDNESDAY, 26-AUG-09, MORNING REPORT

AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE CONTINUES TO BUILD IN OVER OUR AREA PROVIDING US WITH GRADUAL WARMING TEMPERATURES AND CLEAR SKIES THROUGH FRIDAY. THE WEEKEND FOR MONO COUNTY WILL SEE THE SLIGHT POSSIBILITY OF SOME TROPICAL MOISTURE SNEAKING IN OVER THE CREST FOR A LOW CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH COOLING TEMPERATURES. THE OWENS VALLEY REMAINS DRY WITH TEMPERATURES DROPPING A BIT BY SUNDAY AND MONDAY.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: SUNNY SKIES. HIGHS AROUND 94. WINDS SE 10 - 20 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.
TONIGHT: CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS SE 10 - 15 MPH.
THURSDAY: SUNNY AND WARMER. HIGHS NEAR 96. WINDS S 4 - 9 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS SE 5 - 8 MPH.

FOR THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:

TODAY: SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS S 5 - 10 MPH.
TONIGHT: CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 40S. WINDS S 5 MPH.
THURSDAY: SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS S 5 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE UPPER 40S. WINDS W 5 - 10 MPH.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

TODAY: SUNNY. HIGHS 76 - 86. WINDS S 10 MPH.
