FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

EASTERN SIERRA WEATHER FORECASTER

WEDNESDAY, 12-AUG-09, MORNING REPORT

PRETTY MUCH WEATHER AS USUAL TODAY, WITH TEMPERATURES RUNNING IN THE UPPER 90S FOR THE OWENS VALLEY WITH SOME SMOKE AND HAZE FILTERING INTO THE FORECAST AREA FROM THE VARIOUS WILDFIRES IN CALIFORNIA. AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH IS STILL DUE TO PASS THROUGH THE PACNW ON THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY, GIVING INYO AND MONO COUNTIES A SLIGHT COOL DOWN WITH INCREASED WINDS. TEMPERATURES WILL BEGIN TO REBOUND ON SUNDAY INTO MONDAY, WITH DRY AND WARM AUGUST WEATHER THROUGH MOST OF NEXT WEEK.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. HIGHS AROUND 97. WINDS SE 8 - 11 MPH.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS SE 5 - 14 MPH G 18.
THURSDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS AROUND 97. WINDS SE 7 - 10 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS SE 8 - 10 MPH.

FOR THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:

TODAY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70S. WINDS SW 5 MPH.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE UPPER 40S. WINDS W 5 - 10 MPH.
THURSDAY: SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS SW 15 - 20 MPH G 25.
THURSDAY NIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 40S. WINDS W 5 - 15 MPH G 30.
