FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

WEDNESDAY, 29-JUL-09, MORNING REPORT

STILL AN ONGOING CHANCE OF HIGH BASED, ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAIN TODAY, BUT THE CHANCES WILL BEGIN TO DIMINISH AS THE WEEKEND NEARS. OTHERWISE HOT TEMPERATURES IN THE VALLEYS, PARTICULARLY THE OWENS VALLEY, CONTINUES FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. I EXPECT A SLIGHT DROP IN THOSE TEMPERATURES BY THE WEEKEND AS A CLOSED LOW HOVERS OFF THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA COAST. BUT, TEMPERATURES WILL STILL REMAIN ON THE WARM SIDE AS HIGH PRESSURE CONTINUES TO DOMINATE OUR WEATHER.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. HIGHS AROUND 101. WINDS NW 3 - 5 MPH.
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. 20% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. WINDS NW 6 MPH.
THURSDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND HOT. HIGHS AROUND 100. WINDS NW 5 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. WINDS SW 7 MPH.

FOR THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:
