FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

FRIDAY, 24-JUL-09, MORNING REPORT

HIGH PRESSURE STATIONED OVER THE FOUR CORNERS AREA WILL CONTINUE THE THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE UPPER TERRAIN THROUGH SUNDAY. THE VALLEYS WILL REMAIN ON THE HOT SIDE THROUGH THE WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES SHOULD REMAIN ABOVE NORMAL, FOR LATE JULY, THROUGH MOST OF NEXT WEEK. BUY WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY, AN UPPER LOW OFF THE PACNW DEVELOPS, ONCE AGAIN INCREASING THE CHANCES OF SOME SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTION OVER THE CREST.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: SUNSHINE AND A FEW CLOUDS MIXED WITH A CHANCE OT THUNDERSTORMS. HIGHS AROUND 100. WINDS SE 10 - 15 MPH.
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH AN ONGOING CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. WINDS S 5 - 15 MPH.
SATURDAY: SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. HIGHS AROUND 101. WINDS SW 10 MPH.
SATURDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. WINDS SE 3 - 9 MPH.
