FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

TUESDAY, 21-JUL-09, MORNING REPORT

UNSTABLE AND MOIST AIR WILL REMAIN OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN THROUGH THE WORK WEEK, ALONG WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE VALLEYS. OUR UPPER LEVEL HIGH WILL MIGRATE INTO CENTRAL UTAH BY THURSDAY, FAVORING ADDITIONAL MOISTURE OVER THE CREST, BUT CONTINUING THE TREND OF HOT TEMPERATURES IN THE VALLEYS. RIGHT NOW AT LEAST, FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND LOOKS TO FAVOR INCREASED CONVECTION IN THE UPPER ELEVATIONS, WITH CONTINUED WARM TEMPERATURES IN THE VALLEYS.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY AND HOT. HIGHS AROUND 99. 20% CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. WINDS SE 5 - 10 MPH.
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. 20% CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE MTNS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 60S. WINDS SE 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AND CONTINUED HOT. HIGHS AROUND 102. WINDS NW 7 - 10 MPH.
