FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

TUESDAY, 07-JUL-09, MORNING REPORT

DRY SHORTWAVE IMPULSES ROTATING AROUND AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILL HELP KEEP TEMPERATURES A LITTLE COOLER FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. HOWEVER AS THOSE SHORTWAVES MOVE THROUGH OUR AREA WE WILL SEE BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS, PARTICULARLY IN MONO COUNTY THROUGH THE WEEK, WITH TODAY BEING THE WINDIEST DAY OF THE WEEK. OTHERWISE WE WILL HAVE CLEAR SKIES AND JUST BELOW SEASONAL TEMPERATURES. A RED FLAG WARNING DOES REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM THIS EVENING FOR MONO COUNTY FOR LOW HUMIDITY AND WINDY CONDITIONS.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: SUNNY AND HOT. HIGHS IN THE IN THE UPPER 90S. WINDS S 10 - 15 MPH G 20 IN THE AFTERNOON.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS NW 10 - 15 MPH G 25.
WEDNESDAY: SUNNY AND A LITTLE COOLER. HIGHS IN THE MID 90S. WINDS NW 5 - 15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS NW 8 MPH.

FOR THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:

TODAY: SUNNY BLUE SKIES. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS SW 10 - 15 MPH G 25.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE LOWER 40S. WINDS SW 10 - 20 MPH G 35.
WEDNESDAY: SUNNY AGAIN AND BREEZY. HIGHS IN THE LOW 70S. WINDS SW 10 - 20 MPH G 35.
