FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY
PROVIDED BY DENNIS MATTINSON
EASTERN SIERRA WEATHER FORECASTER

MONDAY, 06-JUL-09, MORNING REPORT

AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH IN THE PACNW WILL USHER IN A WEST TO SOUTHWEST FLOW THIS WEEK AND A SLIGHT WARMING TREND TO BOOT. IN ADDITION, IT WILL SEND OUR WAY A FEW DRY SHORTWAVES WHICH WILL MAKE FOR WINDY CONDITIONS (IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENINGS) TODAY AND TOMORROW, PARTICULARLY IN MONO COUNTY. ALL IN ALL, WE WILL HAVE MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND TEMPERATURES RUNNING A LITTLE ABOVE NORMAL BY THE END OF THE WORK WEEK.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: SUNNY AND HOT. HIGHS IN THE IN THE LOW 100S. WINDS S 5 - 8 MPH.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS SW 6 - 11 MPH.
TUESDAY: SUNNY AND CONTINUED HOT. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 90S. WINDS SW 5 - 15 MPH G 22.
TUESDAY NIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS NW 8 - 12 MPH G 20.

FOR THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:

TODAY: SUNNY BLUE SKIES. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS SW 10 - 15 MPH G 30.
TONIGHT: MOSTLY CLEAR. LOWS IN THE LOWER 40S. WINDS W 5 - 15 MPH G 30.
TUESDAY: SUNNY AGAIN AND BREEZY. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS SW 15 - 20 MPH G 35.
TUESDAY NIGHT: CLEAR AND BREEZY. LOWS IN THE LOWER 40S. WINDS SW 10 - 20 MPH G 35.

Amen! We're on our way on the 10th, and it'd be nice if the rest of the forecast was as nice as the first couple of days ;)

RIGHT NOW, IT LOOKS DRY AND MOSTLY CLEAR WITH OFF/ON BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS; MAYBE GUSTS TO 30 MPH WITH AVERAGE OF 10 -15 THROUGH FRIDAY.
