Fire danger, be careful out there

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Fire danger, be careful out there

Post by hikerduane »

Fire danger is up there already, so be careful with a fire or your stove, at least up here on the Plumas NF. I just remembered to call the 800 number they now have us wood cutters call before going out. I should have called yesterday before going to town for more saw gas as when I remembered to call this morning, the message was that the woods were closed to wood cutting. I'm glad I spent the last month on weekends cutting, when things were cool and rainy. Now I can split all that wood, now that it is hot.:( For info on the Plumas, I called, 800 847-7766, undated by 4:30PM each day. Also, campfires and some stoves like wood burning or alcohol would not be allowed in undeveloped campgrounds/areas.
Piece of cake.
