FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

EASTERN SIERRA WEATHER FORECASTER

TUESDAY, 09-JUN-09, MORNING REPORT

COOLER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES WITH UNSETTLED CONDITIONS OVER THE SIERRA THROUGH THE MID PART OF NEXT WEEK. THIS IS ALL DUE TO A LARGE SCALE TROUGH ACROSS THE WEST COAST FEED BY SUB TROPICAL MOISTURE AND JUNE HEATING. SO, POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF VALLEY SHOWERS SEEMS TO BE IN STORE FOR OUR AREA FOR THE EXTENDED PERIOD. MOST OF THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE OVER THE MTNS. AND THE UPPER ELEVATIONS, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A CHANCE OF A SHOWER OR TWO IN THE VALLEYS.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE PM. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70S. WINDS S 7 - 10 MPH.
THIS EVENING: A CHANCE OF EARLY EVENING SHOWERS & THUNDERSTORMS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 50S. WINDS NW 5 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: A SLIGHT CHANCE OF A STRAY PM THUNDERSTORM. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS SW 5 - 8 MPH.
WEDNESDAY EVENING: SHOWERS & THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE. LOWS IN THE UPPER 40S. WINDS NW 4 - 7 MPH.

FOR THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:

TODAY: A 40% CHANCE OF SCATTERED SHOWERS & TSTMS. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS W 5 - 15 MPH G 25.
THIS EVENING: CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS & TSTMS. LOWS IN THE UPPER 30S. WINDS W 5 - 15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS & TSTMS. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION 20%. HIGHS IN THE MID 50S. WINDS W 5 - 15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY EVENING: MOSTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE UPPER 30S. WINDS W 10 - 15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: AFTERNOON TSTMS POSSIBLE. HIGHS 60 - 70. WINDS SW 10 - 15 MPH.
WEDNESDAY EVENING: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF EARLY EVENING TSTMS. LOWS 30 - 40. WINDS SW 10 - 15 MPH.
