FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

MONDAY, 08-JUN-09, MORNING REPORT

A LONG WAVE TROUGH PATTERN TO CONTINUE OVER THE WESTERN USA THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL KEEP TEMPERATURES BELOW NORMAL (SOME 10 DEGREES) WITH ENOUGH WEAK INSTABILITY TO GIVE US A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE MOUNTAINS EACH AFTERNOON. RIGHT NOW IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE WINDS WILL BE MUCH OF AN ISSUE THIS WEEK. ALL IN ALL PRETTY PLEASANT, BUT UNUSAL, WEATHER FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: A SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 80S. WINDS SW 5 - 15 MPH.
THIS EVENING: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. LOWS IN THE LOWER 50S. WINDS NW 3 - 8 MPH.
TUESDAY: A 40% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. WINDS SE 10 - 15 MPH.
TUESDAY EVENING: CLOUDY WITH A 30% CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. LOWS IN THE UPPER 40S. WINDS NW 6 MPH.

FOR THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA:

TODAY: A SLIGHT CHANCE OF ISOLATED SHOWERS & TSTMS. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS SW 5 - 10 MPH.
THIS EVENING: CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS & TSTMS. LOWS IN THE UPPER 30S. WINDS W 5 - 10 MPH.
TUESDAY: CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS & TSTMS LIKELY. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION 30%. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS W 5 MPH.
