FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

THURSDAY, 23-APR-09, MORNING REPORT

A CONTINUATION OF SOME HIGH CLOUDS TODAY WITH SLIGHT COOLING AS A SHORTWAVE MOVES ONSHORE AND WEAKENS. BY FRIDAY THE COOLING WILL CONTINUE AS A WEATHER DISTURBANCE NOW CROSSING SOUTH FROM CANADA TO WASHINGTON IS PROGGED TO MOVE INTO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TONIGHT, THEN PUSH INTO CENTRAL CALIFORNIA TOMORROW. THIS SYSTEM WILL EJECT RAPIDLY TO THE EAST ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THE COOLING AND WINDY CONDITIONS OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND THE VALLEYS FROM THIS SYSTEM IS A GIVEN. A WIND ADVISORY HAS BEEN SET FOR INYO COUNTY FROM 2PM TODAY THROUGH 10PM THIS EVENING. A HIGH WIND WARNING FOR MONO COUNTY HAS BEEN HOISTED FROM 3PM TODAY TILL 9AM FRIDAY ALSO, A CHANCE OF SHOWERS EXISTS FOR OUR AREA FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY

TODAY: PARTLY CLOUDY TO MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 80S. WINDS BECOMING SW 12 - 15 MPH G 20.
THIS EVENING: SOME CLOUDS OVERHEAD. LOWS IN THE MID 40S. WINDS NW 6 - 10 MPH.
FRIDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF SHOWERS. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 60S. WINDS BECOMING SW 15 - 20 MPH G 30.
