FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

FRIDAY, 10-APR-09, MORNING REPORT

A SPLITTING TROUGH MOVING ONTO THE COAST WILL EXPAND INLAND TODAY AND TONIGHT PROVIDING MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES, LIGHT SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS AND A CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE VALLEYS. SHORTWAVE RIDGE BUILDS IN BEHIND THE TROUGH GIVING US CLEARING CONDITIONS ON SATURDAY AND NICE WARMING TREND THROUGH MONDAY. ANOTHER LOW MOVES THROUGH OUR AREA ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK, COOLING TEMPERATURES DOWN AND PUSHING THROUGH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION IN THE MOUNTAINS.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 60% CHANCE OF SCATTERED RAIN. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS S 10 - 15 MPH G 20.
THIS EVENING: CLOUDY WITH A 50% CHANCE OF RAIN SHOWERS THEN CLEARING OVERNIGHT. LOWS IN THE MID 30S. WINDS NW 10 MPH.
SATURDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 60S. WINDS NW 10 - 15 MPH G 25.
