FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

THURSDAY, 09-APR-09, MORNING REPORT

AS WE SPOKE OF IN YESTERDAYS FORECAST THAT UPPER LOW DUE IN TODAY HAS INDEED SPLIT WITH THE WEAKER PART MOVING THROUGH OUR AREA LATER TODAY. THUS WE DO NOT HAVE A BIG PRECIPITATION PRODUCER HERE. SO MOSTLY DRY CONDITIONS IN THE OWENS VALLEY TODAY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY. THE CHANCE OF SHOWERS PICKS UP FOR MOST OF THE FORECAST AREA ON FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY MORNING. THEN CLEARING SKIES AND WARMING TEMPERATURES SUNDAY AND MONDAY.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: PARTLY SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS IN THE MID 60S. WINDS S 10 - 15 MPH G 20 THIS AFTERNOON.
THIS EVENING: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF SHOWERS. LOWS IN THE MID 30S. WINDS SE 5 - 10 MPH.
FRIDAY: CLOUDY WITH A 50% CHANCE OF SHOWERS. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS SE 12 - 18 MPH G 25.
FRIDAY EVENING: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 30% CHANCE OF SHOWERS THEN CLEARING. LOWS IN THE MID 30S. WINDS NW 6 - 10 MPH.

FOR MAMMOTH LAKES:

TODAY: PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 50% CHANCE OF SCATTERED SHOWERS. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 30S. WINDS SW 5 - 15 MPH.
THIS EVENING: CLOUDY WITH 60% CHANCE OF SNOW. LOWS IN THE LOWER 20S. WINDS SW 5 - 10 MPH.
FRIDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 70% CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS. HIGHS IN THE MID 30S. WINDS S 5 MPH.
