FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

WEDNESDAY, 08-APR-09, MORNING REPORT

THAT UPPER LEVEL LOW THAT GAVE THE HIGH COUNTRY A NICE DUSTING OF SNOW AND THE VALLEYS MAJOR WINDS, IS NOW MOVING NORTH EASTWARD INTO NEVADA. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MONO COUNTY HAS NOW BEEN CANCELED. STILL THOUGH, A SLIGHT CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION REMAINS, PARTICULARLY IN THE HIGH COUNTRY TODAY. THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM LOOKS ON TRACK FOR LATER THURSDAY WITH A GOOD CHANCE AT PRECIPITATION THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. RIGHT NOW, THE WINDS APPEAR TO BE LIGHTER WITH THIS STORM THAN THE LAST. THINGS LOOK TO CLEAR OUT BY LATER SATURDAY, GIVING US A REAL NICE SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. NEXT STORM SYSTEM LOOKS TO ARRIVE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: PARTLY SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE AM. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 60S. WINDS NW 10 - 15 MPH G 20 THIS AFTERNOON.
THIS EVENING: PARTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE MID 30S. WINDS NW 10 - 15 MPH.
THURSDAY: PARTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID 60S. WINDS SW 10 - 15 MPH G 25.
THURSDAY EVENING: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 20% CHANCE OF SHOWERS. LOWS IN THE MID 30S. WINDS NW 6 - 10 MPH.
